Crystal Bloom - Paper Art

CRYSTAL BLOOM is a series of paper sculptures inspired by the wondrous way snow crystals form and evolve. Each snowflake travels alone through the atmosphere, shaped by every gust, temperature shift, and moment of its descent. Its individuality is a record of that journey. This collection expands that idea into a creative realm—imagining what might happen if a crystal could hold onto the impressions of what it encountered. Each artwork becomes a glimpse of a memory preserved at its core, unfolding outward through form and color.

The series brings these imagined memories to life through vibrant palettes and meticulously layered structures. Every piece consists of more than two dozen layers, crafted to grow outward like a crystal blooming with the echoes of what it has “seen.”

Each artwork reveals a different ‘memory’ captured within the crystal:

Macaw — a burst of scarlet, blue, green and gold inspired by a macaw soaring across the Amazon.
Thunderstorm — branching patterns reminiscent of lightning spreading through a turbulent sky.
Supernova — a dramatic expansion of form symbolizing a star erupting into brilliance and giving birth to something new.
Hibiscus — a bloom reimagined through ordered geometry, its petals and hidden buds emerging from crisp angles and layered contours.
Fusion — energetic streaks representing electrical charge traveling from the crystal’s edge toward its core.

Together, these artworks imagine snowflakes not as frozen objects, but as storytellers. CRYSTAL BLOOM transforms each flake into a memory unfolding, shaped not by weather alone, but by the colors and forces of the worlds they pass through.
