Batmobile (Tumbler) - Paper Model
This paper model of the iconic Batmobile Tumbler was entirely scratch built in 2012, crafted at a 1:15 scale using 300 and 450 gsm brown cardstock. The heavier stock gave the model an impressive sturdiness, allowing even the wheels to remain functional so the Tumbler can roll just like its cinematic counterpart.
What makes this piece truly special is the process behind it. This was my first fully scratch-built paper model, created without any 3D software or digital help. Every surface was developed using hand-drawn layouts, geometric calculations, and plenty of trial and error. After long college days, this project became my after-hours passion—an exploration into form, engineering, and the craft of paper modeling.
The wheels alone were made from hundreds of tiny pieces, each individually cut, shaped, and assembled to replicate the heavy-duty structure of the real Tumbler. Building them taught me the foundations of surface development, a skill that would shape many of my later works.
This model was created simply out of admiration for The Dark Knight trilogy and the powerful design language of its Batmobile. It remains a personal milestone—an early project driven by enthusiasm, patience, and a love for bringing fictional machines to life through paper.
